F

Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics issued the following announcement on July 21.

Former FGCU women's soccer player Julia Roddar (2012-14) and Team Sweden opened up Olympic group play with a 3-0 win over Team USA at Tokyo Stadium Wednesday.

The victory ended USA's 44-match winning streak that dated back to 2017. Roddar and her Swedish squad are back in action this Saturday, July 24 as they take on Australia at 4:30 am EDT. The match can be viewed on the NBC Olympics coverage site.

Roddar is FGCU's ninth Olympian overall and one of two Eagles featured in this year's Olympic games. Petra Halmai, a current member of the swimming & diving team, is representing Hungary.
