Women’s Tennis Singles And Doubles Advance To ITA Cup Quarterfinals

Deniz Khazan and doubles team of Daniela Farfan and Nathalia Gasparin succeed on first day

All three women’s tennis participants advanced to the ITA Cup quarterfinals on Thursday at the Rome Tennis Center.

SINGLES:

First-seeded Deniz Khazan defeated Sanne Selmer Gilje of Adelphi 6-0, 6-1 in the round of 16. Khazan will play Marta Vicens Miquel tomorrow in the quarterfinals. 

DOUBLES:

The Bucs women’s doubles team of Daniela Farfan and Nathalia Gasparin completed a big upset over two-seeded doubles team of Sofiia Sharonova and Anna Novikova from Indianapolis, 6-3, 3-6, [10-5]. Farfan and Gasparin will face Madison Kane and Eleonora Liga of Azusa Pacific tomorrow in the quarterfinals.
