Three finalists have been announced in the search for Florida Gulf Coast University’s fifth president.

The finalists are:

  • Robert G. Gregerson, Ph.D. –  President, University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg
  • Tod A. Laursen, Ph.D. – Acting President, SUNY Polytechnic Institute
  • Susana V. Rivera-Mills, Ph.D. – Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Ball State University

Information submitted by the finalists as part of the application process can be found on FGCU’s presidential search website.

The next step in the search process is for FGCU to host public forums on campus for students, faculty, staff and community stakeholders to meet with the finalists. Details will be announced soon, but the sessions will take place Oct. 12-14.

“FGCU received an outstanding response to our call for applicants, and our finalists represent the top and emerging leaders in the field of higher education,” said Edward Morton, the chair of FGCU’s Presidential Search Advisory Committee and a member of FGCU’s Board of Trustees. “We are looking forward to bringing these accomplished, talented and innovative  individuals to campus to meet with our stakeholders.”

FGCU’s Board of Trustees will conduct final interviews on Monday, Oct. 17, and a president-elect will go before the Board of Governors in November for confirmation. According to the search timeline, the transfer of duties is expected to take place following President Mike Martin’s retirement at the end of the calendar year.
