Deion Sanders was born on August 9, 1967, in Fort Myers, Florida. He attended North Fort Myers High School. There, he played football, baseball, and basketball. He later enrolled at Florida State University and played both football and baseball. In 1989, he was drafted by both the NFL and MLB. Sanders played in the NFL from 1989 to 2005. He spent time with five teams and won two Super Bowls. In MLB, he played part-time from 1989 to 2001. He appeared in one World Series. He is the only person to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series. Sanders later worked as a sports analyst and coach. In 2020, he became head football coach at Jackson State. In 2022, he became head coach at the University of Colorado. His athletic career began in Fort Myers, where he first gained attention.
