The City of Cape Coral invites the public to a ribbon cutting ceremony for Joe Coviello Park Tuesday, December 19, at 10 a.m.

The event will include food and refreshments, park tours, educational animal demonstrations, and live music. For GPS purposes, the park entrance is south of Ida Baker High School, 3500 Agualinda Boulevard. No reservation is required to attend.

Coviello Park is named in honor of late Cape Coral Mayor Joe Coviello. This park offers a walking path, picnic shelter, boardwalk, pier, and outdoor classrooms. Coviello was fond of wildlife, and this nature preserve will allow residents the opportunity to encounter eagles, gopher tortoises, and other native animals.

Coviello Park is one of seven new neighborhood parks funded by the Parks GO Bond, a $60M expansion of parks and recreation amenities approved by voters in 2018. The approved 15-year general obligation bond funds major parks and recreation improvements throughout the City.
