The City of Cape Coral will hold a waste collection event Saturday, November 4, from 7-11 a.m. in the City Hall parking lot, 1015 Cultural Park Boulevard.

In addition to the City's longstanding partnership with Lee County’s Solid Waste Department to collect bulk items and household chemical waste (HCW), we are now partnering with Habitat for Humanity to repurpose gently used bulk items.

Residents are encouraged to bring items that can be donated for reuse. No white goods, such as refrigerators or dishwashers, will be accepted.

“Our household chemical waste collection events with Cape Coral have been a longstanding effort that has allowed us to divert more than 40,000 pounds of chemical waste from the disposal stream over the last year alone,” said Doug Whitehead, Lee County Director of Solid Waste. “We look forward to welcoming Habitat for Humanity to this event to assist with bulk waste diversion efforts. We encourage residents of Cape Coral to take this opportunity to donate unwanted bulk items for reuse to lower the impact on the waste stream.”

These semi-annual events give residents another way to dispose of large items and a safe and responsible way to dispose of HCW. Residents should use the main entrance to City Hall on Cultural Park Blvd. to drop off items. Materials for drop-off will be collected from vehicle trunks and truck beds.

Proof of residency may be required to drop off items. Photo IDs with a Cape Coral address and Cape Coral utility bills from an active account are acceptable items to prove your residency.

The next bulk waste event will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024.
