National Walk in the Park Day on March 30 would be even better celebrated with a best friend. Lee County Domestic Animal Services, along with Lee County Parks & Recreation, will host the first Doggie Field Day 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at Estero Park, 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd.
All proceeds from a $5 donation will go directly to the Animal Care Trust Fund which was established in 2002 to provide specialized care and services to stray animals of Lee County.
Activities will include a relay race, obstacle course, solo cup search and sniff, relay dog wash, as well as contests for owner/dog look-a-like and best dressed contests.
Sign up ahead of the event in person at Animal Services, 600 Banner Drive, or the day of the event. A mobile adoption site will be available with adoptable pets.
