No. 35 Nationally For Highest Cumulative Team GPA

FGCU Softball received academic honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Tuesday as 15 current and former Eagles were named All-America Scholar Athletes.

"I am very proud of our team's performance in the classroom," head coach David Deiros said. "They are intrinsically motivated to be successful, and the results prove it."

With a 3.57 cumulative team GPA for the 2021-22 academic year, the Green and Blue recorded a top-40 team GPA nationally, coming in at No. 35.

This past spring, FGCU posted its highest semester GPA in program history, a 3.61. FGCU has now recorded its 10th-straight semester GPA above a 3.3.

Nine Eagles made the Dean's List in the spring as eight Eagles soared to a 4.0.

To be named a NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete, one must maintain a 3.5 GPA for the entirety of the 2021-22 academic year.

McKenna Batterton, Kaylin Cole, Reedy Davenport, Cana Davis (ASUN Second Team), Emily Estroff, Tayli Filla, Amaya Gainer, Ashley Hayes, Hope Hernandez, Ally Hulme, Sam Leski, Neely Peterson, Abbey Thomas, Ryley Topliff and Avery Viancos each hit the mark in the classroom.
