Women’s Golf Adds FAU Transfer Anna Claire Bridge

Rising sophomore Anna Claire Bridge (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS/FAU) has signed with the FGCU women's golf program as announced by head coach Shannon Sykora today. Bridge transfers to FGCU after competing at FAU last season as a true freshman.

 

"I'm very excited for Anna Claire to join the FGCU golf program," said Sykora. "She has been steadily improving and brings a great work ethic to the team. She will do great things as an Eagle."

 

Bridge competed in four team events with the Owls during the 2021-22 campaign and was named to the FAU All-Freshman Team. She ranked fourth on the squad with a 77.0 scoring average through 11 total rounds. Her best individual finish on the season with tied for 33rd at the Jupiter Women's Invitational. Additionally, she was a Dean's List honoree in her first year of college and earned recognition on the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.

 

Prior to attending FAU, Bridge ranked among the top-30 junior golfers in North Carolina in 2019 and made the All-State team highlighting her high school career. She was also one of the top-50 junior golfers across both Carolinas that year.

 

In 2020, Bridge earned multiple medalist honors as a senior, including one at the 2020 Greater Memphis FCA Tournament, after moving to Tennessee as her father, Jim, joined the Memphis football coaching staff as the offensive line coach. At Collierville High School, she qualified for the district, regional, and state tournaments. She was a finalist for the Daily Memphian Girls Golfer of the Year. Additionally, she was selected to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Golf Team.

 

Bridge joins Lousiane Gauthier (Canelones, Uruguay/Colegio Stella Maris) as the first signees of the Sykora era. The incoming class for the Eagles now stands at four including early NLI signees Grace Rigby-Walden (Gerrards Cross, England/The Chalfonts Community College) and Leonie Wulfers (Muenster, Germany/Gymnasium Hochrad).
