Last Mile Scholarship Continues to Help Students Graduate

The NFC Foundation is pleased to celebrate four Last Mile Scholars and their recent graduation from North Florida College.

Pictured are Madison County residents Naomi Perkins and Patricia Reagan who graduated with their Associate in Arts degrees. Suwannee County resident Karis Rewis graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, and Lafayette County resident Carla Mann Lowrey completed her Associate in Arts degree.

At the NFC Foundation, we understand that it can be challenging for students who have been unenrolled for a semester or more to return to college and complete their few remaining credit hours, but in just two years, we have helped 35 students finish their degrees at NFC at no cost to themselves.

After earning their degree of certificate at NFC, these students are empowered to reach their next goal, whether that be financial security, higher education, or a change in career.

Recent graduate Naomi hopes to continue her education by transferring to a university where she will major in business administration. She received encouragement through the Last Mile Scholarship saying, “It shows that people care about your education no matter what you are going through and there is always someone to help you along the way.”

Patricia plans to advance her career in project management with her new credentials. “The Last Mile Scholarship allowed me the opportunity to grow educationally, physically, and emotionally. It is very appreciated!” said Reagan.

If you believe that you may qualify for the Last Mile Scholarship, apply today at www.nfc.edu/foundation-giving/scholarships. For more information, contact the NFC Foundation at foundation@nfc.edu or 850-973-9414.
