Lee County Domestic Animal Services has a large number of cats and kittens entering the shelter as most cats begin their breeding cycle.
Animal Services is in need of volunteers to provide foster homes for kittens too young for adoption or for a nursing mother plus her litter.
All new fosters are provided with all supplies needed. We are also in need of adopters for those cats and kittens old enough to go to their forever families.
Now through May 30, all adoption fees on cats and kittens will be waived with an approved application.
Anyone who would like to help is asked to donate the following items: baby blankets, water bowls, kitten nursing bottles, flat dishes, digital thermometers, cat beds, Dawn dish soap, cat nail trimmers and Royal Canin baby cat food.
The items may dropped off at the shelter, 5600 Banner Drive, during regular business hours.
Adoptable pets can be viewed online at www.LeeLostPets.com and applications also can be filled out in advance.
