The following version of this update has been adjusted for ADA accessibility:
In early February 2022, the City completed a temporary transition to the Lee County water source, which enabled the City to purchase up to 1.5 million gallons of drinkable water per day from the county for up to 150 days. The measure helped alleviate water demands while the City continues to grow its water infrastructure through existing and upcoming projects. At this time, the Cty has been able to recover water tank levels, allowing for improved water pressures. Additionally, the City has embarked upon a thorough improvement of the water system in order to fully surpass the expected water demand for years to come. Among the improvements underway:
-Construction of two (2) new water wells, with projected completion by end of April 2022;
-Two (2) additional wells have already been contracted and are in the design phase. Construction will
begin immediately upon completion of previous two wells with an expected completion of Fall 2022;
-The process to expand the water plant is already underway;
-A new water tank is under construction and expected for completion in Fall 2022;
-Three (3) more new wells are in the preliminary design phase and expected to begin construction in 2023.
Please review the Water Pressure Guide accompanies this update, which outlines some of the most common factors impacting water flow in your home and what you can do.
