City of Bonita Springs recently issued the following announcement.
Council has approved city staff’s request to submit the West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND) grant application. Lee County Natural Resources Division administers the
West Coast WCIND grant fund for waterway projects that promote safe navigation and water-based activities. Eligible projects must relate directly to navigation in Lee County and
must address one of the following categories: Navigation Improvements, Boating Safety, Environmental Education, Nautical Recreation, or Law Enforcement. The City would use
the potential grant funding for continued Marine Law Enforcement on Lee County waterways of the Imperial River and beach areas.
