Lee County issued the following announcement on March 1.
The Lee Board of County Commissioners voted Tuesday to award a contract to design and oversee Bonita Beach Park improvements.
Improvements to Bonita Beach Park, 27954 Hickory Blvd. include renovations to the restrooms and deck space. The restroom renovations will bring the facility up to current ADA
standards and provide better lighting and ventilation. An enlarged deck will be added to the beach side of the restroom facility, which will provide additional seating.
The facilities at Bonita Beach Park were built in 1996.
It will take about five months to design the improvements.
The $104,604 contract was awarded to BSSW Architects that will provide design, permitting and construction administration. The project is funded by tourist development taxes on
short-term lodging.
