Hammond Stadium Boardwalk reinforced for spring training 2022

6

County of Lee recently issued the following announcement.

The Boardwalk section of Hammond Stadium at the Lee County Sports Complex is being reinforced for spring training 2022. The county is coordinating the necessary shoring

work with its partners. Work is commencing immediately and is anticipated to be complete before spring training begins, providing for the return of fans to the Boardwalk for Minnesota Twins games.

The reinforcement is an agreed-upon, safe interim solution as the county and its partners work toward a final remediation plan for the Boardwalk.

The reinforcement plan was created and reviewed by professional engineers licensed in the State of Florida. The county is confident about the safety of the Boardwalk with this plan in place. The public’s safety is the top priority.
