Track and Field Earn Five Wins at Tiger Invitational

Keiser University recently issued the following announcement.

Keiser men's and women's track and field broke a school record and took home five wins on Saturday at the Tiger Invitational in Sewanee, Tennessee.

On a debut day for all of the Seahawks at the meet, KU put on a show. Three freshmen took home individual wins in their first collegiate meet, while returning long jumper, Patrick Peel, earned a first-place finish for himself. Harriet Tuson had a tremendous first meet performance with two first-place finishes in the 200 Meter and 800 Meter. With time adjustments to be made, she will have a B-Standard time and qualify for nationals. Additionally, Luis Armenta, kicked off his Seahawk career with a school record 11.03m distance in the Weight Throw.

COACH'S CORNER

"This meet was a great confidence builder leading into the conference championships," said Head Coach Jamaine Gordon. "We had a national qualifier, a school record broken and five individual wins. We are excited and ready for the conference championships next week"

UP NEXT

The Seahawks will travel back up to Birmingham, Ala for the SUN Conference Indoor Championship on February 7 at the Birmingham Crossplex.
