City of Cape Coral recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Cape Coral is set to launch its new Utility Billing System on February 2. The software will improve efficiency, accessibility, and responsiveness to better meet the needs of Cape Coral’s utility customers. As a result, customers will notice new billing statements beginning in February.
The billing conversion will take place from January 25 to February 1, during which time customers will have access to limited services. After the launch, all e-bill customers will be required to enroll in the new system.
E-bill customers are expected to be most impacted by the change.
Here's what to expect during the transition:
- After Jan. 25: Customers enrolled in the City’s e-bill service will no longer receive an e-bill from the current system.
- Jan. 25 to Feb. 1: The City will be unable to process online payments; however, payments can be made in person at City Hall.
- E-bill customers currently set up for auto pay through Bill Trust, the City’s current system, will receive their last automatic debit for payment of the January 2022 statement.
- Feb. 2: Once the new system is active, registration instructions and a link to sign up will be posted on the City website and e-mailed to current e-bill customers.
- Most customers have a six-digit account number. However, if your account number is less than six digits, place zeros in front of the number to make it a total of six digits when registering with the new system. For example, if your account number is 1234, when you register you will enter 001234 for your account number.
While the conversion will impact some of the City’s services, staff will be able to assist customers and answer questions.
