Groundbreaking for Adopt-A-Median Project; a City & Resident Partnership

8

City of Cape Coral recently issued the following announcement.

The ceremony is scheduled on Friday, January 28 at 9:00 a.m.

The site of the ceremony will be at 4421 Sands Boulevard, Cape Coral, FL 33914.

The goal of the Adopt-A-Median Program is to beautify the City of Cape Coral through a cooperative effort of the City, residents, and businesses and to encourage an inclusive,

community atmosphere. “We are excited,” said Mike Ilczyszyn, Interim Director of Public Works, “there are residents and business owners in the community who are in the position

to improve the quality of life in their neighborhood. This project will be a great addition to the Adopt-A-Median Program.”

Tree removal at the site began the first week of January 2022. “The adopt-a-median program allows residents and businesses to fund the ‘adoption’ of a median,” commented Don

Apking, Cape Coral resident and Director of the Beautification Committee, “we install the landscaping and the City provides the ongoing maintenance, so it’s mutually beneficial.”

The Director of the Beautification Committee is Don Apking; BEAUTIFICATION.DIRECTOR@SWCCAC.COM
