City of Cape Coral recently issued the following announcement.
Starting the week of January 10, 2022, bulky waste, garbage, recycling and yard waste will all be collected on the same day for Cape Coral residents.
Cape Coral is sending postcards to each of the 80,400 service addresses announcing the service enhancement. Residents with questions are encouraged to call the 311 Call
Center or can call Waste Pro customer service at 239-337-0800, and can use the search feature on the City of Cape Coral website to determine their collection day at
www.capecoral.gov under Public Works.
Additionally, the City is using the electronic billboards on Veterans Parkway and on Pine Island Road, and residents can also follow City of Cape Coral Government on social media
for information about the changes.
“In an effort to enhance the lives of our residents, we are continuously evaluating and re-evaluating our processes in order to improve residents’ experience”, said Michael
Ilczyszyn, Interim Director of Public Works. “Same-day service reduces collection vehicle traffic in neighborhoods to one day per week and simplifies the disposal and collection
efforts for our residents. The goal being better compliance and easier enforcement."
The same-day service uses multiple trucks to complete collections. For more information, or to find your waste collection day, please visit
