Florida Southwestern State College recently issued the following announcement.
After leading the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to a pair of Suncoast Conference Championships the past two seasons, FSW captain Riley Oglevie has signed to continue her career at the Division I level, inking with Winthrop University where she will join the Eagles for the 2022 campaign.
Oglevie played in 45 matches over the past two seasons for the Bucs, hammering down 174 kills and registering 64 blocks. She had some of her best matches as a Buc in FSW's biggest matchups over the past two years, notching a career high with 12 kills and 4 blocks against #5 Odessa as a freshman and finishing off 9 kills on 24 swings in a 3-1 win over #2 Snow this season.
FSW finished 45-14 in Oglevie's two seasons in Fort Myers, going a perfect 24-0 in Suncoast Conference play while finishing in the top 10 at the NJCAA National Tournament twice including a 5th place finish this fall.
She will join a Winthrop team coming off of a solid 2021 season where the Eagles went 18-10 overall and 12-4 in Big South play where they finished third. Two seasons ago the Eagles were a perfect 14-0 in conference play and reached the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in program history.
Oglevie is the fourth NCAA Division I signee for the Bucs this season and the 10th in the past two seasons, joining 2021 teammates Elissa Alcantara (Cincinnati), Maria Petkova (San Francisco), and Yunju Lee (Chicago State).
