Men's Hoops Launches Over Lions

Barry University recently issued the following announcement.

The Bucs took down Florida Memorial 112-68.

The Barry Buccaneer men's basketball team recorded a school-record fourth straight game of scoring over 100+ points with their 112-68 victory over the Florida Memorial Lions on Saturday, Nov. 27.

Records: Barry (5-0, 1-0 SSC), Florida Memorial (5-4, 2-1 TSC)

SUMMARY:

  • 1H - The contest started out as a close affair with the score being knotted up at 19 a-piece with 8:14 left in the half. The Bucs would then end the half on a 24-8 run, capped off by a Michael Schaefer three--pointer at the buzzer, to take a commanding 18-point lead into the locker room. | Barry 52, FMU 34
  • 2H - Florida Memorial knocked down a nice corner three on their first possesion of the half but Barry responded by putting together a 18-4 run that extended the lead to 29. The Bucs never let their foot off the gas and ultimately extended their lead to as much as 49. | Barry 112, FMU 68
NOTEWORTHY:

  • Tonight was another all-around team effort in the scoring department with eight different Bucs scoring in double figures led by Nick Anderson who had 15 points on 5-8 shooting from downtown.
  • The Bucs knocked down a season-high 15 three-pointers while also recording a season-low in turnovers with just eight.
  • The game was a school-record fourth straight for the Bucs over the century mark, breaking the mark of three set in 1990-91 and tied in 2015-16.
ON THE HORIZON:

Next up for the Bucs is a home contest against the St. Thomas Bobcats on Monday, Nov. 29 at the Health & Sports Center.
