County of Lee issued the following announcement on Nov. 2.
The Lee Board of County Commission voted Tuesday to award a contract for engineering services for expansion and renovations to LeeTran’s Rosa Parks Transportation Center in
Fort Myers. The renovations will include four new bus bays, interior remodeling and ADA improvements to the restrooms. The $176,000 engineering contract is with DRMP, Inc.The
Rosa Parks Transportation Center currently has nine bays for LeeTran fixed-route buses, one designated ADA Paratransit van pull-in area, taxi and rideshare stands, intercity bus
pull-in bays, customer service areas for both LeeTran and Greyhound, as well as customer amenities in the lobby. About 1,100 passengers use bus bays and approximately 65
people use customer service areas for LeeTran and Greyhound services daily. On Oct. 19, the Board approved a contract amendment with Chris-Tel Corp. for construction services
for the $3.2 million construction project. The work is expected to be completed in midyear 2022. To learn more about LeeTran or to follow service related updates, please visit the
