Barry University Athletics issued the following announcement on Nov. 3.

Bucs double up Conquistadors

The Barry Buccaneers blew out the Florida National Conquistadors 86-42 in their final exhibition game on Wednesday night on Cesar Odio Court.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP

Final: Barry 86, Florida National 42

SUMMARY:

1Q - The Buccaneers led from the get-go, after Harriet Swindells hit a three-pointer on the opening possession. Trinity Bosecker hit a jumper in the paint to make the lead 19-9. | Barry 19, FNU 9

2Q - The Conqs pulled to within five points, 19-14 early in the second period, on a three-pointer by Adria Stewart and basket by Brandliyn Robertson. But the Bucs rolled off a 14-0 run to go up 33-14 and FNU never got under double figures. | Barry 42, Barry 20

3Q - The Bucs slowly pushed the lead up. Camilla Flefil hit a triple with 2:35 left to push the lead over 30. | Barry 66, FNU 31

4Q -The game got well and truly out of hand in the fourth. Swindells connected for a three-pointer at 8:05 to give the Bucs a 42-point lead and FNU never got it under 40. Dasiah Thornton hit one of five three-pointers in the period at 5:20 that gave Barry its biggest lead, 48 points, at 81-33. | Barry 86, FNU 42

NOTEWORTHY:

Barry shot 43.9 percent from the floor, including 50 percent from three-point range. The held the Conquistadors to a 26.0 percent from the floor and 26.7 from the arc.

Swindells led the Bucs with 17 points in 24 minutes. Trinity Bosecker added a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.  chipped in 10 points.

Brianna Richarson led FNU with 10 points.

ON THE HORIZON:

Barry opens the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 2:00 pm against the Falcons of St. Augustine's.
