Nova Southeastern University issued the following announcement on Oct. 19.
With grade-point averages of a 3.5 or higher, an impressive nine members of the 2021 Nova Southeastern softball team earned Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association
(NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2020-21 academic year. A total of 1,727 players from NCAA Division II were recognized overall.
Sharks players named to the notable list included: Samantha Burke, Madison Fine, Emily Hess, Allie Janowiak, Mikayla Johnson, Sydney Lageyre, Mayte Lezcano, Reece Martin
and Kerstyn Shaw. Collectively, head coach Julie LeMaire's group achieved a program-record semester GPA of 3.47 in the winter of 2021.

Led by four All-Sunshine State Conference performers, the Sharks finished their abbreviated 2021 campaign with a record of 12-12.
