City of Bonita Springs: Bonita Springs Represented at the Southwest Florida Regional Resiliency Compact

City of Bonita Springs issued the following announcement on October 11.

Councilman Fred Forbes(primary),Councilwoman Amy Quaremba (alternate) and city staff were in attendance at the first Southwest Florida Resiliency Compact meeting held at Florida Gulf Coast University’s Emergent Technologies Institute on October 9th. Representatives from Everglades City, Marco Island, Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero, Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Cape Coral, Punta Gordo, the Captiva Erosion Prevention District and the Seminole Tribe of Florida were also in attendance.

The goal of the compact is to create an alliance of local government bodies and resource managers to in an effort to mitigate the effects of sea-level rise and warming temperatures in the SWFL area.
