HOW IT HAPPENED:

The teams started aggressively combining for three shots on goal between the fifth and seventh minutes, yet all three were stopped at the line, two by Sharks keeper Natalie Robayna.

The Sharks had the last four tries of the half, as well, coming closest on a Chama Silva free kick into the top right corner in the 44th minute, only for a finger-tip save to knock it away.

NSU had attempted two more shots out of the break, the last one coming in the 61st minute. The Sailfish, meanwhile, took four of their five second-half shots in the final 25 minutes, converting in the 67th to break the tie and, eventually, win the match.

 STATS OF THE NIGHT:

The Sharks were narrowly outshot overall, 9-8, despite a 6-4 first-half edge. They also accounted for six of the game's nine corner kicks, including all three after halftime.

Silva led the team with three shots, all of which were saved by the Sailfish.

Robayna and her Sailfish counterpart both had five saves between the sticks.

 BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

The Sharks fall to 28-8-1 all-time in the Battle of the Fish, as the loss snaps a nine-match winning streak and a 15-match unbeaten streak in the series history. The teams tied, 2-2, on Oct. 26, 2013, while PBA's last victory was a 2-1 affair at the NSU Soccer Complex on Sept. 13, 2005. The last road loss was on Oct. 23, 2001, a 4-0 shutout, which was the final time the teams met as foes in the NAIA's Florida Sun Conference before the Sharks joined the SSC for the following season.
