Barry University issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.
Barry alumna Michidael Ceard is accepting applications for a virtual training and community service initiative to increase voter turnout, Power University: Shake the Vote.
The program explores campaigning, civic engagement, running in elections, and creating voter plan strategies. If accepted, you’ll receive a swag box Activist Kit, be connected with paid election opportunities, receive community service hours and internship credit. All students can apply who can commit to 3-5 hours a week starting September 25, 2021.
Ms. Ceard works on racial justice campaigns and is the Statewide Membership Coordinator of Florida Student Power Network. She wants Barry students to apply for this opportunity to expand their civic engagement and to offer them the chance to network and build connections. “I'd love to show humanities majors the possibilities that lie with their degree,” she shares.
Make an impact and transform our communities by applying for Power University by September 17, 2021.
