City of Bonita Springs issued the following announcement.
Council has approved the recommendation of The Art and Public Places Board to grant Artist Cottage tenancy to Raul Rubio. Letters of interest regarding cottage tenancy were received from 3 artists, of which, Raul was unanimously chosen. Raul, a Cuban-born immigrant has been creating art from a very young age. He further refined his artistic skills at the Luis Casas Romero de Camaguey Provincial School in Camaguey Cuba. Later on, Raul joined the Fidelio Ponce De Leon Artist Group which granted him the opportunity to participate in various expositions and showcase his work. After immigrating to the United States Raul’s artistic focus has centered around Impressionism, Surrealism, Abstract Art, and Cubism.
The tenant occupancy agreement requires the artist to rent the premises for the sum of $300.00 per month from October to May and $200.00 per month from June to September, for the full term of the agreement.
