City of Bonita Springs issued the following announcement.
Council has approved moving forward with an Interlocal agreement between the city and Lee County for Federal funds to assist with costs related to the COVID-19 pandemic. On March 27, 2020, President Trump signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act into law, which established the Coronavirus Relief Fund in the amount of $150 Billion for payments to State, Tribal governments, and units of local government based on population. Per this Interlocal Agreement, Lee County agrees to provide financial assistance in an amount not to exceed $841,896. These funds help with providing funding for such things as facility safety modifications, rental expenses, remote working technology, cleaning/sanitizing, PPE, etc.
