Page Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center tied with Larsen Health Center as the largest nursing home in Lee County in the first quarter of 2026, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Both facilities shared the highest ranking for size in the area.

The facility offered 180 beds during this period—70 more than the county’s average—and cared for an average of 158.1 residents in the quarter.

CMS rated Page Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center 2 out of 5 on its overall scale, which is below the state nursing home average of 3.3 for Florida.

By the end of the first quarter of 2026, the center had incurred two fines totaling $195,442 and received two penalties.

There were 10 for-profit nursing homes located in Lee County, Florida, as of the same period.

According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the country’s older adult population continues to rise while numbers in younger age groups decrease. From 2020 to 2024, Americans age 65 or older increased by 13%, while the under-18 population dropped by 1.7%. The United States has seen its older population surge over the last century, growing from 4.9 million people in 1920 to over 61 million in 2024.

A 2021 study found that almost half of this demographic—around 28 million individuals—may eventually need extensive long-term services and support. The research also projects that more than a third may require nursing home care over time.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
