On Saturday, Dec. 6, former Riverdale High School standout Roy Alexander’s current collegiate team the Texas Tech Red Raiders won 34-7 against the BYU Cougars in the NCAA Division I FBS Football Championship.
The game took place at Jones AT&T Stadium at 11 a.m. and was the first matchup against the BYU Cougars in the tournament.
Florida Gulf Coast University’s women’s basketball team has signed Denika Lightbourne from Florida International University for the upcoming season. Head coach Raina Harmon praised Lightbourne’s skills as a versatile guard who can both score and facilitate play.
These former Southwest Florida area high school athletes are set to compete on Saturday, May 2.
Florida Gulf Coast University softball will close its regular season against Stetson starting May 1. The outcome may affect both teams’ seeds for the upcoming ASUN Championship.
