City of Cape Coral recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Cape Coral Oasis Charter Schools was recognized as the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) 2021-22 STEM Schools of Excellence.

Oasis Charter Schools is one of 11 public and private schools nationwide to receive the prized ITEEA award. The ITEEA honors outstanding schools that are committed to providing a robust, integrative STEM program.

Superintendent Jacquelin Collins said Oasis Middle has been recognized for its outstanding commitment to providing Cape Coral students with an engaging and progressive STEM education program that is effective and measurable.

“The middle school is the core of our K –12 STEM pathway,” Collins said. “Receiving this award is impressive because we have only developed the program within the last year, and yet we find ourselves competing nationwide and winning against established programs.”

Oasis Middle School is home to over 800 students who all receive STEM-centered coursework. The middle school has received an “A” grade for the last 13 consecutive years from the Florida Department of Education.

ITEEA’s mission is to promote technological literacy for all by supporting the teaching of technology and promoting the professionalism of those engaged in these pursuits.

The City of Cape Coral is proud to see Oasis Charter Schools receive this prestigious distinction.
