The Barry University men’s basketball team ended its four-game skid with a XX-XX win against the Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic University in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action Wednesday evening at the Health & Sports Center in Miami Shores, Florida.

SUMMARY:

  • 1H – Jaron Williams led all players with 17 points on 6-of-9 from the floor, including two threes, and 3-for-4 from the line. Will Lee and Ryan Claflin staked the Sailfish to an early 6-0 lead each with a triple. Malik Stanley’s 3-pointer at 15:51 gave Barry its second lead of the game; the Buccaneers stayed ahead the remainder of the period. Nick Anderson had 11 points for the Buccaneers with three threes.   • 2H – Amari Haynes had a spectacular dunk in each half and finished with 16 total points. Barry kept the lead for the final 20 minutes. Malik Stanley started the frame with three free throws. James Montgomery blocked a Sailfish layup attempt and later scored on a jumper. OT Delancy’s two free throws at 10:37 gave the Bucs their largest lead, 68-56, before a 10-0 run by the Sailfish was capped by a three from Lee. Barry had a double-digit lead again, but Trent McNair’s free throws at 2:45 brought the visitors as close as six, 79-73. Nick Anderson buried a trey to boost Barry back up by nine.   • Will Lee led all players with 20 points.
  • Jalen Cooper had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
