Hurricane Debris Pickup Update

The City of Cape Coral is on track to have 90 percent of the debris from the Hurricane picked up by the end of November. The second and third passes are scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

Since debris collection began on October 5, the City of Cape Coral’s contractor has removed 30,437 truckloads of hurricane debris from Cape Coral streets, totaling 1,456,594 cubic yards. The debris collected could cover 227 football fields at three feet high.  

The City began removing debris from canals on Monday, November 7, and has removed 33 truckloads of hurricane debris.

Waste Pro Horticulture Pickup

  • Waste Pro began picking up containerized horticulture on Monday, November 14. Pickup will fall on your regular trash day.
  • Vegetation must be placed in containers or horticulture bags – not plastic bags – and separated from other debris piles.

Commercial Property Debris Removal

  • The State of Florida has hired a debris contractor to remove hurricane debris from commercial properties. Owners with debris on their property can apply online at www.IanDebrisRemoval.com or call the Debris Removal Hotline at 850-961-2002.
