On Saturday, Dec. 6, former Bishop Verot High School standout Leroy Roker III’s current collegiate team the Ohio State Buckeyes lost 10-13 against the Indiana Hoosiers in the NCAA Division I FBS Football Championship.
The game took place at Lucas Oil Stadium at 8 p.m. and was the first matchup against the Indiana Hoosiers in the tournament.
Florida Gulf Coast University’s women’s basketball team has signed Denika Lightbourne from Florida International University for the upcoming season. Head coach Raina Harmon praised Lightbourne’s skills as a versatile guard who can both score and facilitate play.
These former Southwest Florida area high school athletes are set to compete on Saturday, May 2.
