The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s golf team finished in 12th place at the Marana Regional, closing out play on May 20 with a final-round score of 1-over-par and an overall tournament total of 11-over. The event took place at The Gallery Golf Club.
This result marks the most successful season in program history for the Eagles. Christian Figueredo and Nolan Harper led the team in the final round, each recording a score of 2-under-par 70 to tie for 43rd individually. Sacha Ruiz also tied for 43rd after posting a final-round score of three-over-par (75). Brett Moore finished tied for 53rd with a two-over-par (74), while Sebastian Gamboa ended tied for 69th after shooting six-over-par (78).
Figueredo played steadily throughout his round, making birdies on holes six, fifteen, sixteen, and seventeen against bogeys on holes one and thirteen. He completed his back nine with a score of two-under-par (34) and totaled ten birdies during the tournament. Harper also posted strong numbers, making four birdies across his round and totaling thirty-seven pars over all rounds—tied for fourth most among competitors.
Ruiz’s performance included thirty-five pars across three rounds. Moore recorded thirty-six pars during the tournament as he navigated some early setbacks but stabilized on the back nine. Gamboa managed thirty-five pars but faced challenges late in his final round.
As a group, Florida Gulf Coast accumulated one hundred seventy-five pars—the second most by any team in the field—capping what is described as their best season yet. Head Coach Andrew Danna provided post-tournament remarks alongside players Christian Figueredo and Nolan Harper through official social media channels.
With this regional finish, Florida Gulf Coast concludes its record-setting season.
