Florida Gulf Coast beach volleyball defeated the University of South Florida with a 3-2 victory at the Gulf Front Invitational on April 17. The match took place in Clearwater, Florida, where FGCU improved its season record to 18-12 while USF moved to 18-11.

The win is significant as it marks FGCU’s second all-time victory over USF, maintaining an undefeated record against the Bulls. The competition opened with Kaitlyn Beck and Sydney Majick securing a close win for the Eagles with scores of 22-20 and 21-15. Ava Lilliquist and Alexis Keeter followed with a decisive performance, winning their set by scores of 21-10 and 21-12. Emma Soncrant and Vanessa Moriarty clinched the overall team victory for FGCU by taking their match with scores of 21-16 and 21-19.

With this result, FGCU continues its participation in the tournament by facing No. 5 ranked Florida State later on Friday afternoon.
